I am truly blessed with a life more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.
In 2010, I met this ridiculously sweet Army guy in a pub in Charlottesville, VA on Valentine’s weekend, and we got married in 2012 in Temecula, CA.
He’s been such amazing supporter and motivator for this business of mine, and I can honestly say, I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for his encouragement.
We have two daughters (born 2015 & 2018) and a son (born 2021). They are my WHY, and I’m so fortunate to work from home while cherishing all the small, fleeting moments!
I owe endless thanks to my family, friends, and dear clients who’ve been continuously supporting Limefish Studio.
My art passion stems from early childhood. When I was in preschool, I actually told my mom I wanted to be an artist when I grew up!
My business slowly developed when I began selling artwork in Junior High (if you want a good laugh, ask to see my first business card – eek!). I stayed busy doing craft fairs, selling artwork & painting murals (actually how I bought & paid off my first car before college – woop woop!)
I’m fortunate to have training in a wide variety of areas and feel they collectively speak to my artistic style.
I received my Bachelor’s in Graphic Design from Longwood University in 2008 and my Master’s in Art Education from Boston University in 2012. I was thrilled to take advantage of photography studies at both Universities (as well as at various other workshops).
I have years of work experience as a Creative Marketing & Web Manager and Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing. Prior to becoming a mom, I also worked part time teaching Preschool Art for several years. I’ve also continued that passion with teaching art for parents and children in my community (including annual Messy Paint Days and seasonal Art in the Park classes).
My Etsy shop opened in 2011, and it has allowed me the joy and flexibility to create custom artwork for customers worldwide! In 2012, when my art business was truly booming (and my photography was starting to take off) I finally felt the confidence to leave my ‘big job’ and run Limefish Studio full time! It’s been the best decision ever, and I’ve never looked back!
In June 2019, I joined Usborne Books & More as an Independent Consultant, and in 2020, I promoted to Team Leader. I’ve always believed books are magical and love that they have the power to educate, instill wonder, promote creativity and foster togetherness. I’m constantly impressed by the construction & durability of UBAM. Their interactive elements, vivid colors, beautiful illustrations, engaging stories & huge selection truly offer something for everyone. It’s such a joy to help bring these quality books into the homes of so many wonderful families like yours!!
In 2023, Usborne Books & More has re-branded to PaperPie! We love being the company that brings you literacy and learning resources through our incredible lines – Usborne, Kane Miller, Learning Wrap-Ups and SmartLab Toys!
In 2020, I had health reasons that paused some of my business, and then Covid took over and paused even more. Then, we moved to St. Louis from Virginia! It’s been a season of adjustments, but I look forward to seeing what’s in store.
Simply put, my business is more than my full-time job. Limefish Studio is part of who I am, and I look forward to connecting with you!
