Oh these two!!! I said it before, and I’ll say it again… I think they’re secretly models and just aren’t telling me! Erik and I go waaaaay back (high school buddies), and I was so ecstatic when he and his beautiful bride-to-be Ashley asked me to be their photographer! I immediately knew from our first phone “meeting” that her and I would hit it off! She’s such a kind-hearted, down to earth gal. I’m so happy they found each other! They’ve chosen the gorgeous destination of Cape May for their September 30, 2017 wedding….. which just so happens to be my birthday too, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by capturing the love and excitement of their big day!!!
For their engagement session, they decided to brave the December cold, and we headed to lovely Georgetown in DC. The timing was perfect too – exactly 6 months after Erik’s perfectly sweet surprise vineyard proposal! For photos, we had a few particular spots in mind, but mostly enjoyed wandering and hunting for unique backdrops. Our goal was to capture a variety of images including remnants of fall foliage, winter greenery and twinkle lights at dusk… and I’m pretty sure we nailed it! 🙂 Immediately after their session, I received the sweetest messages from them telling me how much fun they had and how easy the experience was! Yay!!!!! Music to my ears! I had promised them in the beginning that I always try to make sessions feel like we’re just hanging out rather than “pose, pose, pose, pose” and I truly think the giggles, genuine smiles and flirty vibes captured here reflect that!
It was nearly impossible to narrow down favorites for this post! I hope you enjoy browsing, and please join me in saying a giant CONGRATULATIONS to Ashley & Erik!!! Leave a comment with some happy wishes for this sweet couple!
