Rachel + Matt :: Madison, Virginia Wedding :: Rustic Elegant Farm Wedding

Rachel and Matt’s special day was absolutely flawless.
After a week of a torrential downpour, the storms subsided just in for their wedding at Springhaven Farm in Madison, Virginia.  I am so truly honored to work with such kind-hearted people and can’t explain what a joy it is to help capture such an incredible milestone. Rachel and Matt’s love for one another was simply radiant, and the hard work they put into every detail was impressive (a beautiful combination of rustic and elegant). I have to admit this was quite possibly the most difficult time I’ve ever had narrowing down my “favorite” photos to share here on the blog! For this reason — as well as because the blog greatly diminishes photo quality 🙁 🙁  — I hope you’ll check out their entire gallery of high-quality photos here!
In the meantime, enjoy a quick peek at the beautiful story of their day.
Guests were welcomed with blue skies, a grand farm entrance and the first glimpse at handmade details.
Flowers were purchased through The Flower Shop in Charlottesville and then beautifully arranged by Matt’s Grandmother.

I was so touched when I received their save-the-date which features photos from their Engagement Session. And, their invitation includes a beautiful scan of a painting that Rachel’s Father did.
Rachel’s gorgeous gown was from J Crew and she painted her own hanger!
I told you this gal was crafty!
Her hair was done by Gena Mills from At Last Hair Color Studio in Charlottesville.
Rachel and Matt chose not to do a First Look and wanted to wait until the ceremony to see each other.
However, I did capture these photos when Rachel’s father saw her for the first time!
How precious are these!?
Rachel also made special handkerchief gifts for her father and her groom.
Matt sent a gift to his Bride before the wedding via special messenger (me – lol).
Rachel, you are absolutely stunning!
 And, what a handsome Groom!
This was without a doubt one of the most unique alters I have ever seen!
What a clever way to highlight the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop!
This is definitely a favorite for me!
I just love how sweetly they look at each other.
They were in their own little world, and it was like I wasn’t even there.
If time allows I always plan to steal the Bride and Groom away for a few additional photos at sunset for precisely these reasons!
My absolute favorite from the day!
I LOVE the idea of a wooden bench guestbook! And, this one is all the more special since Rachel’s dad built it for them!
Delicious treats contributed from family and friends.
What adorable cake toppers from the incredibly talented Emerson Kate Designs.
You may recognize the cute pups from Rachel and Matt’s engagement session
It may have been dark, but we were determined to get a few Bride and Groom cornhole photos!
And, a picture-perfect ending, if I do say so myself!
CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL AND MATT!!!!
I feel so truly blessed with the honor of capturing their special day.
I wish these two lovebirds a lifetime of happiness together!
