Rustic & Romantic Temecula Vineyard Wedding Photos by Ashley Bee

Yesterday, my sweet husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary! 

 So what better time than now to re-share some of my favorite photos from our wedding!? We cannot thank ASHLEY BEE enough for these incredible images from our wedding in Temecula, California.  I hand-made most of the decorations myself (aside from the awesome wooden welcome sign that my sister made), and nearly 90% of our guests traveled from out of state (including us) for the big day.
It is so incredibly special to have these memories captured.

Since I was still recovering from a badly sprained ankle (which put me on crutches for 4 weeks before the wedding), I wore ballet flats!
My gown was ivory taffeta by Vera Wang and included an incredible wrap-around bow, as well as POCKETS!
And, I made myself and my bridesmaids wire hangers.

Beneath my dress was this little Alpha Sigma Alpha pin, and the floating pearl necklace was my something old. I had purchased it at a thrift store in the Florida Keys (with my Nana) when I was probably only 12 or so. I held onto it all these years, but never had an occasion to wear it…. until now! And, I’ll let you in on a huge secret – the flower I wore in my hair… not only did I fall in love and purchase it before even finding my gown, but it was from the craft store Michaels and only cost me like $2.

I wanted to wear my mother’s veil, but it included a wide headband piece, and I knew I was going to be wearing a flower in my hair. So… I wanted to transform the headband into a unique bracelet. I sought help from D’Angelo Couture Bridal in San Diego and they not only died the veil ivory to match my dress (and added a clip), but she crafted the beautiful cuff bracelet (shown above).

We opted to do a First Look, and I’m SO glad we did. It not only gave us a chance to sneak a peek before the ceremony, but we were able to get more unique shots of the two of us without being pressed for time.

This photo below is one I will cherish forever.
I had asked my Nana to read 1st Corinthians, and she was thrilled. Sadly, 8 months after our wedding she passed away suddenly.
3 months after that her husband, my Pa, lost his battle with cancer.

“Now you will feel no rain, For each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, For each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness, For each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two bodies, But there is one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place, To enter into the days of your togetherness. And may your days be good and long upon the earth.”

I had asked each of my lovely bridesmaids to select her own dress. All I requested was any shade of coral and the chance to “approve” the dress before they bought it.
I LOVE how they all look together, and each one is unique and fits each girl’s personality and style.

Our first dance song was Feels Like Home so I decided to make this little pillow for the outside bench!

I found plain little letters at Michaels and wrapped them in twine to add a little rustic flare.

I borrowed the birdcage from a family friend for cards, and brought this framed photo of mine (with my engagement ring) for the gift table.

We decided to do a mini polaroid guestbook (which turned out amazing), and therefore also decided to include a bunch of mini polaroid magnets with photos of us for guests to keep.

At my bridal shower we played a game with clothespins and since I had so many leftover, I decided to incorporate them at the wedding as the “escort cards.” I hand-painted the paper and then stamped names on the front and table number on the back.
The adorable fabric flowers were made by a dear friend (Simply Handwritten by Anna).

For the tables, we were able to collect lots of mason jar donations from family friends, and then I dyed them this bright blue shade! I then attached the twine and keys (since the wedding was at Keyways it seemed quite appropriate 🙂 I designed the name cards and menu cards, and my dad helped cut all the wine corks. The wooden numbers were purchased from Etsy and then we stained them.

The little silver teacups were originally clear and found at a thrift store. I then added a mercury style finish and planted succulents from my parent’s home. Oh, and I hand-cut all the tiny succulents used for the place settings! And…. below is our sweetheart table! My mom was so sweet to grow the flowers herself, and the Mr. and Mrs. mugs, as well as the Bride and Groom chair signs were painted by me (which are now perfect for above our ‘his’ and ‘hers’ closets at home).

We were so excited about having a dessert bar! Our cake and cupcakes were from the fabulous Cakes to Celebrate, but everything else I worked pretty hard on. I even baked and decorated all the cookies myself (the little caricatures were pulled from our invitations too). So much fun to do!

I’m super glad I put out the little goodie bags too…. there wasn’t a single thing left on the table at the end of the night!

At the rehearsal dinner we passed around a mini clipboard asking our family and wedding party to contribute questions that were later asked at the wedding during The Shoe Game!

I’m quite obsessed with the ring shots above! The 24 one is particularly special to us. Aside form ordering wooden numbers for the table (which I knew I would re-sell after the wedding), I ordered this one to keep (and it’s still on my nightstand a year later). This has been my favorite number since I was young (even on my first license plate), but really for no particular reason. Then, as fate would have it… Andrew and I had our first date on the 24th, he proposed on the 24th, and then we we chose to have our wedding on the 24th.

WOW. It is crazy to believe it’s been a year already. Time certainly does fly, and I feel so honored to have this wonderful man as my husband!
