Our Wedding Video by Kroh Media & Vendor Reviews

I cannot even begin to put into words how incredibly special this video is to us. As soon as I saw that it was posted, I rushed in and woke Andrew. Groggy, he first told me to wait until tomorrow. HA. I sat there giving him a minute to rethink that statement 🙂 We watched, laughed, cried, and enjoyed reliving moments from our amazing day. Then…. I watched it another two times before I went to bed. haha…. and yes, I cried all three times (and again tonight when I watched it for the fourth). It not only captures some of the sweetest moments of our day, but exudes the overall feelings. The videographers were side-by-side with the photographers during much of the day which makes parts of the video almost feel like a magical way of seeing our wedding photos come to life. These priceless keepsakes will be forever treasured, and we are so grateful to have found such an amazing team.

I think it was just days after getting engaged that someone wise told me her biggest regret was not having a videographer for her wedding. I had always known an amazing photographer was important to me, but had honestly never considered video. She admitted to me that memories of the moments and the beautiful words from the ceremony and speeches would slowly fade over time. She forwarded me the link to a company who recently captured her friends’ wedding. I watched every amazing video they had posted on their site and know I cried at all of them. I blown away! The only problem… and of course I didn’t realize it until after I had my mind made up that I wanted to hire them….. these incredible videographers, Kroh Media, were based out of California, and we were in the middle of planning a Virginia wedding. I researched a bunch of other local companies, but every single one of them fell WAY short of the talent and unique artistic qualities that Kroh Media offers. I was still a bit nervous at the idea of cameras following us around all day — I certainly didn’t want a paparazzi feel, but after reaching out to them and “meeting” via Skype, I was even more sold on the idea. Michael and Nathan were incredibly down-to-earth guys and made us feel at ease with everything. I also spoke to a bride that sang their praises. At this point, we were determined to rearrange our budget to include videography, and we were planning to fly them out for the wedding (yep, they travel) ……. then, Castle Hill Cider happened (long story & terrible experience with the venue we had chosen in Charlottesville, VA)…. and we had to start over again. But, believe it or not, we opted for a destination wedding instead and chose to get married near my parents in beautiful California!! And, I was thrilled when I told Kroh Media the news that we were moving the wedding to their state.
We joke that I’m their #1 fan… and I’m super proud to be. Each video I watch not only tugs at my heartstrings, but amazes me with the talent and hard-work that go into creating such a beautiful piece of art….. and I’m not ashamed to say that all their videos make me cry! So, after you watch our video, please do me a favor and stay connected with these ridiculously talented guys. Like Kroh Media’s facebook page and follow along on Vimeo.
ENJOY!

Shortly after our wedding I posted my vendor reviews onto wedding websites, but want to copy them here for you as well! It’s inevitable that things will go wrong on your wedding day, so choosing a strong team of professionals is critical. And, in my case, if you have one bad egg, than you can trust the others to help (go figure venue choice #2 was nearly as bad or worse than our “bad egg” in Virginia).

Keyways Winery & Vineyard: I had no trouble writing my positive reviews, but still have yet to write my full reflections on Keyways. I definitely want to share my thoughts and experiences in full detail when I have the time (and energy), but for now…. all I have to say is that I WOULD NOT recommend it to a bride. Although the place is stunning (honestly the only thing that kept me from switching venues), this place is a disaster. They did not provide an ounce of support to me in planning, coordinating or enjoying my day. Perhaps they’ll get their act back together eventually, but as of now, with their new ownership and wedding management (actually, lack their of), working with them is a nightmare.

Officiant Patricia Coleman: My husband and I live in VA and planned a destination wedding in Temecula, CA. A friend referred Patricia after seeing her perform a wedding, and as soon as I reached out to her I knew she would make everything meaningful, memorable, and run smoothly. I met with her during a planning trip and immediately felt like I’ve know her for years. She has a caring personality, kind heart and her passion for her job was undeniable. What I truly loved was her willingness to make our ceremony completely customized to suit us! Planning long-distance was a breeze… as she always responded to emails quickly and was more than helpful with ideas. We had A LOT of issues with our venue, but knowing our other vendors, Patricia included, were fantastic helped me keep peace of mind. I had no doubts our ceremony would be beautiful, but she in fact helped make if even more magical than I could have dreamed. We cannot thank her enough for playing such a key role in our wedding. We HIGHLY recommend Patricia Coleman as an officiant! You will not be disappointed!! 🙂

Ashley Bee Photography: I don’t even know where to begin. Ashley & Jay (an incredible husband/wife team) are down-to-earth, professional, & amazing talented. My husband & I live in VA & planned a destination wedding in Temecula, CA. After shopping around online & I was immediately blown away by their work. As an artist myself, photography was my number one priority 🙂 I believe my first phone conversation with Ashley lasted nearly an hour! She was so easy to talk to & answered all my questions! On a visit to CA we had our engagement photos taken (which I highly recommend). Not only do you have the chance to work with them before the Big Day, but you get a great collection of photos! We incorporated some into our wedding decor. While we got ready, Ashley was with the ladies & Jay spent time photographing the guys. The entire day went beyond smoothly & even when we were a bit behind schedule, Ashley was calm & kind when “nudging” us along. We LOVED their surprise day-of preview: at the end of the night they had a computer setup with preview photos! They even had little cards printed with our engagement photos & the website of where guests could view the photos online! How clever! I was honestly speechless when I saw our photos! Not only were Ashley/Jay able to capture the love my husband and I share for each other, but they capture the entire feeling of the day. I worked really hard on DIY projects and created almost everything myself and was SO pleased to discover that they had taken pictures of nearly ever little detail! In my opinion, your photographer is one of the most important vendors and I would HIGHLY recommend Ashley Bee Photography to anyone who wants to preserve the memory of a special occasion!
Cakes To Celebrate: Debbie, at Cakes to Celebrate, was an absolute delight to work with from day one.  We planned our wedding from Virginia and she was so responsive and helpful all the way through. Her bubbly personality, attention to detail, creativity, and outstanding selections were impressive and made planning a breeze. We loved every flavor we tried and had a tough time deciding! As an artist, it was important for me to have a say in the overall design and Debbie was very patient as we worked through concepts together. In the end, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing and am beyond pleased with our decisions! If you need a cake or cupcakes, you will not be disappointed in Cakes to Celebrate!!!!
Bradford Carson Music: Bradford performed our ceremony and cocktail hour music for our destination wedding, and we could not be more pleased with his outstanding performance. His experience, professionalism, and passion for music are undeniable. His wide range of musical talents and ability to adapt to various genres makes him truly unique. We cannot thank him enough for helping to make our day truly memorable.
Sterling Productions: Mark, at Sterling Productions, was beyond wonderful. We planned our wedding from Virginia and were confident from our first meeting with Mark that everything would go smoothly. His knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for music were evident. We opted to have a friend (also from VA) perform live music and Mark was more than helpful making sure everything was setup properly and our friend had all the sound equipment he needed (he even brought a stool). My husband and I have a wide range of music interests and we were so pleased at the thoughtful way that Mark was able to transition from one genre to the next. He had everyone on the dance floor all night (and even got grandma out there like he promised). He was very well attuned to reading the crowd and he’d quickly transition songs if one seemed not so popular. He was professional, outgoing, and discreet at the same time. I was glad that he approached my husband and I to give us the heads up before certain events (cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc). I would HIGHLY recommend Sterling Productions to everyone. We could not be more pleased with their services!
