I am SO excited to share this engagement session! Not only does it include a lovely couple at a beautiful outdoor wedding venue, but they brought along their dog and cat (yes, cat) for the photos as well! I always tell my couples that I’m up for any challenges and must admit I was a tad nervous about trying to capture a family photo with a cat! I just imagined my own zoo at home, and there is no way they’d cooperate. But, Mary Beth and Troye have their critters so well-trained! Their pup Jesse and cat Soot were rockstar pet models! I love everything about this sessions and had the most difficult time narrowing down my favorites to share here. Mary Beth and Troye were so flirty and photogenic throughout the whole session!

Like so many wonderful couples nowadays, Mary Beth and Troye met online through eHarmony in 2011. At that time, Mary Beth had just rejoined (taking advantage of the “come back at half-price deal) and she’s SO glad she did! Shortly after, they had their first date at Cafe Caturra. Mary Beth says she remembers thinking she probably talked too much, but apparently not, since a second date soon followed. She quickly realized how much she liked Troye. They enjoyed sushi and watched Bad Lip Reading videos. “I think it was his sense of humor that got me at first,” she says.
“Our proposal was simple, perfect, and very us. I was preparing to take a nap on the couch on a lazy Saturday afternoon this past March. As I was lying down, he jumped up from his desk, walked to the closet, grabbed the ring, and came flying around the couch proclaiming: “I can’t wait any longer!” He slid over to me on his knee like he was sliding into home base and asked me if I would marry him. Of course, I quickly said “yes!” Apparently, he was hoping to wait until the following weekend when we were headed out of town to prose there.“
Mary Beth and Troye will soon be married at the gorgeous Amber Grove (where we also took these engagement photos), and I cannot wait to capture their special winter celebration!
Afterwards, they’ll travel to Stowe, Vermont for their honeymoon!

When we first met a few months ago to discuss everything, I was thrilled (and a bit nervous) when I learned Troye is also a photographer.
