COURTNEY + ROB . Gwynn’s Island Wedding

I’ve been so (happily) busy lately with taking photos, editing photos, and traveling out of state for photography jobs, that blog posts have unfortunately fallen a bit behind. Although I sent this sweet couple their gallery and images weeks ago, it’s finally about time that I share all the gorgeousness with you!
I was immediately smitten with Courtney and Rob when I met them for their engagement session and eagerly awaited their wedding! August 31, 2014 was the perfect day for their friends and family (some who traveled from California) to join in their intimate ceremony on Gwynn’s Island! The morning started off with relaxed preparation — Rob got ready at his family’s home (where the ceremony was later held) and Courtney enjoyed the peacefulness of The Inn at Tabb’s Creek.
I also want to extend a giant thank you to Rob for his service in the US Navy!
Below you’ll find a handful of my favorite images, but please feel free to browse Rob & Courtney’s album too!
The perfume that Courtney wore was actually a gift from Rob when he was in Paris!
I love this shot of Courtney!
And now… her expression seeing her finished makeup and hair! Priceless!
WOW! This dress! I was absolutely speechless when I saw it.
When she mentioned a soft pink dress, I had no clue what to expect, but this is just striking! It was the perfect decision to offset Rob’s white uniform and looked like it was made just for Courtney!
So unique and stunning.
When Courtney mentioned she didn’t have a hanger for her gown, I couldn’t resist gifting her one of my hand-painted hangers.
This is another one of my favorite shots, and I just love when couples decide to exchange letters the morning of the wedding!!
 Such a beauty!
We escaped to a secluded spot for their First Look! I love the nervous excitement in these!
They had an amazing assortment of refreshments and light treats for their guests before the ceremony! How clever?!
I loved all of Courtney’s non-traditional ideas… including her choice to have a Man of Honor!
What a handsome guy, and what an awesome shirt!
Love this capture of Courtney’s mom!
HUSBAND AND WIFE!
Their ceremony included the most beautiful sand ceremony – featuring sand from the east coast and west coast to represent their families and their journey as a couple.
These are seriously my favorite! SOOO happy for these two!
Quite possibly the cutest cake I’ve ever seen!
How awesome are these little DIY honey favors!?
The speeches were so heartfelt and amazing. I think we were all teary-eyed alongside the Bride.
And, because I couldn’t pick a favorite from the Father/Daughter dance… you get to see several.
The lighting at The White Dog Bistro was amazing!
I can definitely can say they were my first wedding couple to cut their cake with a sword!!!
How cute is Courtney’s expression!?
I have no problem hopping behind the bar to capture a shot (photo* not a drink, silly).
Priceless!
And, nothing wraps up a perfect evening like sparklers.
I can’t even put into words how happy I am for Courtney & Rob and how truly blessed I feel to have been chosen as their photographer. Their love for one another (and their family and friends) made their day beyond incredible.
It was such a joy to witness and capture these memories for them.
