Rachel + Matt :: Madison Virginia Country Engagement Photos

He proposed on the one year anniversary of the day they met, and she said, “YES!”
Back on the evening of June 28, 2012, one of Rachel’s friends invited her over for dinner (and she also invited her friend Matt to “man the grill”). Rachel knew this was a set-up, yet Matt had no clue, and needless to say, sparks flew! After a pretty promising first date and a handful of exciting day-dates, a bizarre summer derecho storm took Charlottesville by surprise. Matt lost power for a week, and Rachel kindly offered him a couch to crash on. They joke saying they’ll have to call and thank the power company for taking their time… and their friend for playing cupid.
One year later… on the anniversary of their meeting, Matt, Rachel, Harley & Cronus (their two adorable rescue pups) spent the day on their family farm in Madison and he proposed! So naturally, it made perfect sense to incorporate the farm in their engagement session. And, it will later be the beautiful venue for their wedding in May!
I cannot express how happy I am for these two and how thankful I am for the incredible opportunity to photograph their love for each other.

How sweet is this family!? I just love it when couples decide to include their dogs in their session.
And, crafty Bride Rachel even made the sweet pearl necklace for Harley!
We couldn’t forget to include some photos to show their rivalry.
The lighting was incredible here, and how cute are their dogs!!!
Oh, and crafty man Matt made the wooden sign with their initials!
I just love that these two wanted to end their fall session with s’mores!
Wishing these two all the best during this incredibly exciting time!
I cannot wait for their big day!
