Amber Grove Wedding Photos | Richmond, Virginia

I have been so eager to share these photos! This wedding at Amber Grove was beyond gorgeous, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for the sweet Bride and Groom! I had the joy of taking Christie & Matt’s engagement photos back in February and had been anxiously awaiting their wedding day. I saw lots of sneak peek DIY project photos along the way when the Bride posted them to Instagram so I knew to expect something incredible, but it was even more beautiful than I expected. You can really tell all the hard work and planning that went into every little detail. With the majority of decorations hand-made, it is truly a one-of-a kind day. And, as the Maid of Honor mentioned in her speech, it’s definitely a Pinterest-worthy wedding! Hopefully these photos do the Bride’s hard work justice!

I have to say a giant THANK YOU to this sweet Bride and Groom for entrusting me with taking their wedding photos. It is truly such an honor, and I really hope they cherish their photos for many years to come.

I LOVE this patch on the inside of her gown!

The Bride & Groom didn’t want to see each other prior to the ceremony, but wanted to exchange letters, so after stumbling upon a screen divider, I gladly brought it outside for their sweet swap moment.
And then, the lovely Groom was presented with a secret special gift from the Bride!
His expression is priceless.
 She looks stunning!
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.
Priceless….
This gazebo was stunning, and I love the hearts they added (which matched the table decor)

The little details mean so much!

If memory serves me correctly, I asked them to do a “Dirty Dancing lift” haha. If only someone videotaped some of the things I say when photographing. It’d be quite comical.
Regardless….. love these sweet shots!

After the separate Bride & Groom pick-up photos, this creative bunch requested the following picture, and I LOVE how it turned out.
This next one cracked me up. When I was explaining how I wanted them to stand, one of the groomsmen chimed in saying, “oh, just watch… I bet she’s going to put Matt in focus and blur the rest of us.” I couldn’t help but giggle. He knew my secret plan.
I was beyond thrilled when the couple asked me to paint custom steins for their groomsmen.
And, I love how creative they were! Rather than simple suits, each mug was completely customized for each guy, and I can definitely say it was the first time I’ve painted a baby on a beer stein!
The Groom had ordered mugs for his guys, but not one for himself…. so the Bride decided to surprise him! And, I LOVE the sweet “Cheers” message she requested for the inside.
AGH! These next two are by far my favorites.
I think the lighting is magical, and remember instantly showing the Bride my camera and telling her she looked like an angel. Hopefully they forgive me for stealing them away from the tent to capture these photos while the sun was setting!

Mr. crafty Groom even made their outdoor Jenga game!
This awesome couple added a photo booth twist I’ve never seen before!
They ordered life-size Bride & Groom cutouts for all the guests to take photos with.
And… the “Bride” and “Groom” even made a special late night appearance on the dance floor!

I really glad I stole the Bride and Groom away during the reception for a few sunset shots!
And… lastly, I want to share a few of the reenactments we did with their engagement photos!
