With so many incredible artists all over the globe, Etsy serves as a wonderful online community of talented individuals sharing their gifts with the world. I have decided to feature one Etsy shop each month in hopes of not only spreading the beautiful work of others, but also as a way of encouraging you to explore Etsy.

My shop name is…
    Badbird

The name was created…
    I have created art for over 30 years & when I saw all the artist on Etsy I though, ” I can do that!”
    I love birds and have had pet birds so that gave me the idea for the name Badbird.

 The logo was created…
    Ah, yes, my cranky little bird. I wanted a bird logo, of course, and  
    I wanted one that wasn’t to sweet. Real birds are like this. Cute, sweet and kind of evil.

The shop owner is…
    Me [Andrew Zuill]

The shop is based out of…
    San Diego, but I don’t have a retail location.

This shop first opened…
    2006

In my shop you’ll find…
    Art prints and embroidery patterns

My favorite item is…
    my owl prints. I really like owls.

My shop is unique because…

    it’s art! It’s a expression of myself.

I draw inspiration from…

    Other artist, children’s books and cartoons.

My advice to other Etsy shop owners is…

    If your art is 3-D have good photo’s, have a good selection and network!

    My Epson printer. Love it.

You wouldn’t guess that I…

    I’m almost 50 years old! Most of the people I deal with on Etsy are younger than me, which keeps me young.

I’m not a fan of…

    being hip. Maybe because I’m no good at it.

One day I hope to….

    make enough money so my husband can be a kept man.

  • MAUstudio - I love Badbird, one of my favorite shops on ETSY as well! The artworks are just so fun, and lively and I love animal arts. Kinda like mine with animal theme, my style is very different though, they are a bit more cartoon kawaii cute big head animals.
